How to Download Free Music for iPod?

author 2014-06-19 posted by Jacqueline Ho in Perth

Even with all the fancy new smart phones and tablets available on the market, iPods still offer an outstanding music experience beloved by many. I personally have owned an iPod for many years, buying up as the newer models came out with larger storage and advanced features. I just can’t say no to a device that is exclusively for music, especially one so intuitive as iPod. In this article, I want to share with you a tool that can help you download music for free and put it on your iPod without any hassle.

KiwiG PhonTunes is a multi-functional tool that’s completely free. It allows you to transfer music between your PC, iTunes and external devices (including iPods, iPads, iPhones, Android, and even storage devices like USBs or HDs), as well as manage your music. Best yet, the newest version of PhonTunes features a new Free Music download function, letting you search and download songs for free, limitlessly and legally.

Below, I’ll walk you through how to use PhonTunes to get your new free music and move it right onto your iPod without any headaches.

Step 1.Plug in your iPod to the computer and launch KiwiG PhonTunes. Your iPod will be recognized automatically. You can see all the music already on your computer (on left and in the center) as well as the music in your iPod (on the right). First, click on Free Music at the top of the directory list on the left-hand side of the program.

Step 2.In the Free Music directory, you will see as search bar. Search for any songs or artists you want to download.

Step 3.At the top on the right, click the Batch Download button to select which tracks you want to download. Select all the tracks you’d like to download.

Step 4.Click Download once you’ve checked off your picks. You can manage your downloads in the Download Management section at the very bottom of the left-hand directory list (here, you can pause, resume, or delete songs).

Step 5.To move these newly downloaded songs to your iPod, first you must place them either in iTunes or your Local library. To do this, click on Download Management, and at the top, click the Downloaded button to view all the downloaded items. Select them all, and push To iTunes or Add Music at the top. Add Music will put it in your local music directory, To iTunes will put it in your iTunes library.

Step 6.Open your iTunes or Local music directory by clicking on the appropriate item in the left-hand list. Select all the recently downloaded songs.

Step 7.Once you’ve selected all the downloaded songs, click the To Device arrow located between the PC directory (center) and the iPod music directory (right). In the window that appears, click Start and your transfer will complete in no time!

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this tool as I have, and can appreciate the expanded possibilities for your iPod as well! Not only can you save some money on great music, but also you now can limitlessly transfer music to and from any other devices and your PC.
